The amount of love God has for us is beyond our comprehension and in those special moments when his love is revealed to us wholly or in parts, it feels overwhelming. Forgiveness is one of the most beautiful gifts of Gods love. To know that all of my wrongs have been made right with just a word is mind blowing. What Jesus did on that cross is far greater than any of us can imagine or even comprehend. God sent his son just to die …
for me,
for you,
for us.
He sent him long before our mothers knew us by name, long before our fathers laid their hands on our shoulders. Jesus loved us before our first breath and our first scar. He loved us deeply,
He loves the deeply,
broken
and thats just a love that I wont ever be able to comprehend. To bear the weight of one persons sin was enough to drive any man mad
the impact of a life of wrongdoing is death even in its infancy stage but to bear the weight of the entire world. To take on what so many of us refuse to take off is … well… unconscionable
Im here through my family’s prayers. I am only alive because someone loved me enough to mention me right before going to sleep at night or in the wee hours of the morning. My name wasn’t bitter in the mouths of those who I held so much anger for over the years, it was a sweet psalm, to others maybe even a symphony.
And though many of those who prayed have come and now gone, the prayers didn’t stop at the ceiling of their bedroom, or droop down to the basement floor. It didn’t cling to the curtains just to be brushed away after an afternoon of dusting. Those prayers didn’t sit in the corners of the nearest window sill.
No , not all
Those prayers lifted far beyond the rooftops
Past the ocean and the deep blue sky
Those prayers lifted beyond the tips of eagles wings, they didn’t get blown away by the wind nor rain
Those prayers went past earth,
They didn’t land on the moon or burn up on the surface of the sun.
They reached heaven. Delivered, signed and sealed straight to Gods door.
Those prayers reached him and they in turned reached
Me.
To sturdy me.
To save me.
A sincere act of love, grace and ultimately forgiveness.
Yes, Forgiveness is truly something I will never understand. The concept most certainly eludes me but I do know this, the one thing that will always remain true:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life”
No I may never understand forgiveness, I have been hurt more than I count, I have hurt others more than should be allowed
No I cant fathom spending time with a just and righteous God for days on end just to be sent to earth and

because even six seconds now without God feels like forever, I know those 6 grueling hours for Jesus felt like eternity.
Gods love is unmeasurable.
Gods love can hold and handle the fullness of our lives
Gods love is entrenched in forgiveness
hes not shocked nor surprised by the things we do
unlike humans, his love doesnt cease the minute we fail.
Timothy Keller Says:
The only love that won’t disappoint you is one that can’t change, that can’t be lost, that is not based on the ups and downs of life or of how well you live. It is something that not even death can take away from you. God’s love is the only thing like that.
God is love
God loves you
here, in this moment, now and forever more
Amen.
and
Amen.
